FIRST DAY FILMING

Yesterday 9th of March was my first day filming. As we had planed, on our first day out we where supposed to film in two different locations and produce as much footage as we could. We spend around one hour and a half filming In Torre de Picasso where I decided to take several takes, however we had to face with a very big issue regarding Covid, as our second location was inaccessible due to Covid restrictions, (as mentioned In my previous post)

WHAT WENT  WELL WHEN FILMING

- Well, the first we did when we got to the location, was essential for our organisation as a crew. The first thing I as a producer and directer did was get out all the props and important material I needed for filming. This really helped me to be organised and have everything ready for when needed with time.

- Secondly, as we started filming I decided to go as planed as in my story board with the exact shots and seconds of the song. Therefore, in order to be better organised for when starting to edit and getting scenes together I decided to film the hole 2 minutes 20 seconds off the song in one long shot with different camera angles and movements but with the same location frame. 

- One of the most things that did go very well, I personally think was the coordination between me and the artist, as when we were filming, in the background we had the song playing in a speaker in order for her to sing and in coordination to the song, and meanwhile I was giving her order to do as come in closer to the camera, act more, facial expressions, etc. Therefore I think this was a really important thing to do that really helped as to get each shot as I wanted and be happy with the footage. 

- Finally another really important thing we did right this time was being able to produce a lot of footage by filming each shot and location frame several times therefore when it comes to edit and bring everything together I will have a variety of shots to choose from incase of errors such as unstable shots.

WHAT PROBLEMS I HAD TO FACE / EVEN BETTER IF

- One of the main problems I had to face yesterday when filming was being able to also produce footage from behind the scenes including photographs and videos because the person supports to be in my crew couldn't make it due to personal reasons. However at the end I was able to film a view things on my own and we had to ask people walking by if they could take pictures of me and the artist when filming. Therefore for next time I will make sure to have a substitute choice for each person in my crew.

- Moreover, another big problem I encountered was that when we had been already filming for 1 hour the speaker ran out of battery therefore we had to improvise and what we did was playing the song out loud on my phone which my artist kept in her product in order to listen to it. Therefore, for next time I must learn and take my speaker fully charged.
